BMW F650GS

Failed to load image In 2017 I decided to participate in the Lés a Lés. I recommend all people to do at least one Lés a Lés. Of course, for participation, it is necessary a motorcycle. After long months of analysis and selections, I conclude that the type of motorcycle that I most enjoy is adventure. So, I bought a 2000 BMW F650GS. The motorcycle has heated handles, handlebar guards, top case and ABS. I have added the minimum, low beam and high beam in Led lamps and two USB double plug to charge the GPS, mobile phone, etc. As the motorcycle is not everyday use, I bought a maintenance charger for the battery. Before I go to Lés a Lés, I revised the 50000 km, with oil and oil filter change, air filter change, checking the steering and general clearance. The levels of all liquids, oils and valve clearance were also checked. Finally, it was made the general lubrication. The motorcycle was ready to ride more than 2000 km between departure and arrival at Lés a Lés. The orientation at Lés a Lés is done through a roadbook. The roadbook is not mandatory but the participants need something to read the roadbook given by the organization. On the other hand, you can go without the roadbook because many people have it, you only need to follow the other participants. Another option contracts, during the registration, an element of the organization as a guide. However, as I like challenges, I started to make my roadbook. For the construction I needed aluminium plates that I cut and folded, a piece of polycarbonate as a window of the roadbook and some pieces to pull the paper. I also got a motor to pull the paper. To control the electric motor, I made a printed circuit board that allows changing the direction of the motor. To control the motor was placed in the left handle the remote control. With this, I was ready for Lés a Lés. On the second day of Lés a Lés the motorcycle the starter fails sometimes. As soon as I got home, I disassembled the side where the starter gears were located. I did not disassemble everything because I needed a puller to remove the rotor from the alternator. After removing the rotor, I checked that the problem was with the starter clutch, I repaired it with the help of an oil seal! As the contact parts already showed some wear, I ordered a new starter clutch.

CZ175

I am helping friends to restore a 1966 CZ175 motorcycle from 2016 to the present. The restoration starts with the repair of the internal combustion engine since it had not been working for 20 years. The cylinder was rectified and a new piston was installed. All bearings, seals and gaskets had been replaced. In parallel, it was done the works of tinsmiths, painting and chrome plating. The electrical installation was also rebuilt.
